I want to first commend you all for the excellent participation in our class today! A lot of you had some great ideas and constructive things to share with your peers. This creates a rich learning enviornment for you and for your friends.
I also want to share how proud I am of the whole class for welcoming Alyssa to our class and our school! Talking to her after school, she had a smile on her face and said she had a good day. Let's continue to make sure everyone leaves with a smile and can say they had a great day at Eastdale! Great job Grade 7/8 for being such great friends!
Now for the homework...
Please read the story, "The Nest" in your language text book. I would like to respond to the Reflecting Questions at the end of the story. This includes creating a Graphic Organizer like the one on page 9. I would recommend putting the title, "The Nest" in the middle of your page and drawing bubbles around it to write your connections. I would like to see 3 connections you made. One should be a text-to-self connection, another should be a text-to-text connection and the last should be a text-to-world connection. You may add more if you like as well.
The last task you have is to plan a personal narrative. Take one of your text-to-self connections and tell me about how you related to the story in point form. For example, if you related to how Jimmy supported his friend Paul, you may have a personal narrative about a time when you supported a friend. Jot down point forms to describe the sequence of events of your story.
